Philosophy: "Players decide the server." We play free-for-all, but that doesn't mean we're dogwater to each other. Freedom in gameplay — huge W. Being cringe to other players — massive L.

§0 — Who's Allowed In (18+)

This server is for adult players — you need to be 18 or older. If you're younger, no hate — come back when you're a bit more experienced (and of age). Plenty of other servers out there in the meantime.

§1 — In-Game Freedom (and it's based)

Griefing, looting, PvP, hunting other players, building bases, wrecking bases — that's all standard survival stuff and it's OP af, not a "problem." It's content, boys.

Competition, fair or ruthless — within the game's mechanics — is peak gameplay. Fight, scheme, defend, attack, outplay your opponent. Land Claims are ON — if someone's got a claim staked out, you play around it fair, you don't try to break it with some exploit. That's cope strategy for people who can't play the game straight.

§2 — Cheats = Ban, No Cap, No Discussion

We run Anti-Cheat and it's working overtime. Zero tolerance for:

• hacked clients (x-ray, kill aura, fly, reach, combat autoclickers, etc.) — dogwater move,
• exploiting bugs to dupe items, crash the server, or run lag machines — monkaS behavior, insta-report,
• macros, cheat engines, or any software giving an unfair advantage.

This isn't "smart gameplay," it's eating the server for everyone else. Cheat and you get yeeted, no sugarcoating.

§3 — Respect, Zero Hate (not up for debate)

Trash talk after a fight, clowning your opponent, being salty about a death — normal stuff, part of the game, no cap. But there's a hard line:

• hate speech, hateful symbols in builds, on signs, or in chat — instant, hard ban, zero warnings, that's not up for debate,
• threats, discrimination, real harassment of other players — same deal, we don't do that here.

Compete hard, play aggressive, but don't be cringe. Touch grass if you feel yourself crossing that line.

§4 — Standards and Chat

We follow the official Minecraft Usage Guidelines and Minecraft Community Standards — otherwise the server just goes to the void for real. Chat filters auto-censor profanity and abuse in chat and on signs. Spam, advertising other servers, DM scams — instant L, banned.

§5 — Punishments and Enforcement

What it is: Distant Horizons (DH) is a client mod that lets you see terrain far beyond the normal render distance, using simplified low-detail chunks (LODs) in the distance. The server already supports it — nothing to configure server-side, it's 100% optional. Don't want it? Skip this whole page, your vanilla client works exactly as it does now.

1. Pick a mod loader

DH needs a modded client — Fabric is the easiest and most tested option for this. Forge and NeoForge also work if you already use one of those for other mods.

Fastest way to get set up: install the Prism Launcher or the Modrinth App — both can install Fabric + the mod together in a few clicks, no manual jar-wrangling.

2. Get the mod

Download Distant Horizons for your exact Minecraft version (1.21.11). If you're installing manually instead of using a launcher above, drop the jar into your .minecraft/mods folder — Fabric API is usually pulled in automatically as a dependency, but grab it separately if your loader complains it's missing.

3. Connect like normal

Join chaos-smp.com (or 51.195.63.227:25577) same as always — no special client settings needed to connect. The server detects the mod automatically and starts feeding it LOD data.

4. Turn it on and tune it

In-game: Options → Video Settings → Distant Horizons. Push the render distance slider up — you'll see terrain far past the normal fog line. If your FPS takes a hit, back it off a bit or drop the "CPU Load" preset (start at Balanced, go to Low on weaker PCs). There's no wrong setting here, it's purely about your own hardware.

5. Using shaders? (optional)

If you run Iris + a shader pack, pick one that explicitly lists Distant Horizons support so the far terrain actually blends in instead of popping in flat. Solid, tested options: Complementary Reimagined/Unbound, BSL, and Bliss.

TL;DR: Install Fabric (or use Prism/Modrinth App), grab the Distant Horizons mod for 1.21.11, join the server like normal, then crank the render distance slider in Video Settings. That's it.

Its author describes it as light-weight; we haven't benchmarked it against Distant Horizons, so if you're unsure, try both (one at a time) and keep whichever runs better on your PC. 1. Check your setup

• Minecraft 1.21.11 on Fabric (Voxy has no Forge/NeoForge build for this version).
• A graphics card and drivers with OpenGL 4.6 support — update your GPU drivers first.

Fastest way: the Prism Launcher or the Modrinth App can set up Fabric and install mods for you.

2. Get the mods

Always download from Modrinth and pick the build for exactly 1.21.11 — don't use unofficial backports.

• Voxy 0.2.16-beta — the latest build for 1.21.11 (newer Voxy builds are for other Minecraft versions).
• Sodium and Fabric API — Voxy needs both. Voxy 0.2.16-beta is built against Sodium 0.8.12; launchers normally pull the right dependencies for you.
• LOD Server Support v0.17.0 (Fabric, 1.21.11) — recommended. This is the part that lets the server send you far terrain, so you see it without exploring it first. Without it Voxy still works, but only draws areas you've already visited.

Installing manually? Drop the jars into your .minecraft/mods folder.

3. Connect like normal

Join chaos-smp.com (or 51.195.63.227:25577) same as always — no special connection settings needed.

4. Check that it works

Look toward the horizon: terrain should continue well past the normal fog line. In chat, run /lss diag — it prints how the LOD Server Support client is connected and how much data it's receiving. Voxy's own settings, including how far LODs render, are in Options → Video Settings; lower the distance if your FPS drops.

5. Using shaders? (optional)

Voxy only works properly with shader packs that explicitly add Voxy support. Check the shader pack's Modrinth page for "Voxy" before you rely on it — a pack that doesn't mention Voxy may show broken or missing far terrain. If so, switch shaders off or use the Distant Horizons route instead.

Troubleshooting

• No far terrain at all: check the Voxy build is exactly 1.21.11, Sodium and Fabric API are installed, and your GPU supports OpenGL 4.6.
• Far terrain only where you've been: LOD Server Support is missing on your client, or /lss diag shows no connection to the server.
• Crashes or odd visuals: make sure Distant Horizons isn't installed in the same game profile — remove one of the two.
• Stale or wrong-looking far terrain: run /lss reset to wipe this world's LODs and stream them fresh.

TL;DR: Fabric + Voxy 0.2.16-beta + Sodium + Fabric API + LOD Server Support for 1.21.11, join the server like normal, check with /lss diag. Use Voxy or Distant Horizons, never both.
